Summer & Winter Volunteering Program

Join PSD Nepal’s longest-running and most impactful initiative! Since 2003, the Summer & Winter Volunteering Program has brought together international and Nepali youth to create lasting change in rural communities. Volunteers help build classrooms, install clean water systems, and lead creative education and health projects. Each summer offers a chance to contribute to sustainable development while experiencing Nepal’s culture and hospitality firsthand.

Medical Volunteering Program

Completed medical students can join PSD Nepal’s Medical Elective Program to gain valuable hands-on experience in hospitals across Nepal. Working under the supervision of local doctors, participants assist in clinical procedures, observe patient care, and learn about healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings. This program offers a meaningful opportunity to deepen professional skills, contribute to local health services, and experience Nepal’s medical system from within.

Medical Elective Program

Open to medical students in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study, the Medical Volunteer Program provides a unique chance to engage directly with Nepal’s primary healthcare system. In collaboration with PSD Nepal, volunteers work alongside local staff in rural health posts and community clinics, supporting health education, basic care, and outreach initiatives. The program offers an immersive learning experience that builds cross-cultural understanding and practical insight into Nepal’s healthcare challenges and innovations.

PSD Nepal offers tailored placements for researchers and students, providing local support, expertise, and vital resources for fieldwork and studies at every level. Discover Nepal’s cultures, communities, and landscapes while contributing to knowledge that drives change.
